GOOD BOY GOLF
— Retro Mini-Drop Collection

A fast-paced 1–2 hour assignment to concept a cohesive retro-inspired capsule for Good Boy Golf. The challenge: design a patterned polo, t-shirt, 5-panel hat, socks, and a caddy towel that feel playful, sporty, and unified—your interpretation of “retro golf culture.”

As the graphic designer on this assignment, I focused on bold pattern systems, clean linework, and era-specific color palettes to build a drop that feels confident and collectible.

Collection Components

Patterned Polos

Three polo directions grounded in repeating retro motifs:

  • Daisy Repeat Polo (Page 2) — bright, cheeky expression of California 70s optimism.

  • Golf-Ball Stripe Polo (Page 3) — vertical repeating icons echoing vintage scorecards.

  • Topographic Line Polo (Page 16) — subtle contour-line texture referencing course terrain.

Each polo uses Pantone-consistent palettes, woven label placements, and placket logos, as shown in the mockups.

T-Shirts (Graphic Front + Back)

Soft tees featuring line-drawn golf humor and retro script typography:

  • I’m here for the Par-Tee” graphics in green and orange variants (Pages 6–7).

  • Clean single-color script tees for a quieter retro look

5-Panel Hats

Structured hats using embroidery, rope trims, and repeating patterns:

  • Daisy-pattern hat with Pantone 388C rope (Page 8).

  • Golf-Ball stripe hat in green tonal palette (Page 9).

  • Clean typography hat in navy and white (Page 12).

Crew Socks

Socks designed to extend each story from the polos:

  • Daisy socks (Page 13)

  • Golf-Ball stripe socks (Page 15)

  • Topographic line socks (Page 20)

Caddy Towels (Magnetic)

Towels with simple, retro-lettered humor:

  • I’m here for the Par-Tee

  • Drive Fast, Putt Last

  • Crossed-clubs “Drive / Putt / Club / Minds” (Page 17)

Social Content & Campaign Language

To extend the mini-drop beyond product, I mocked up a small set of social posts using the same patterns, tone, and #GOODBOYGOLF badge. Each tile tests how the collection would live in Good Boy’s feed—pairing product, voice, and attitude in one frame.

  • Built for golden hour – Floral polo shown at sunset; line: “Built for golden hour rounds.”

  • Clean clubs, dirty minds – Topographic polo + hat; line: “For players who like their game clean and their humor… not so much.”

  • Swing in full bloom – Script tee; line: “Clean type. Fresh bloom. Course energy.”

  • Daisy socks – Cart close-up; line: “When the socks steal the spotlight.”

  • Drive Fast, Putt Last towel – Bag detail; line: “Magnetic, bold, and built for quick flexes on the green.”

  • Collection teaser – Group shot; line: “When the fit hits the fairway. Sneak peek at the full Good Boy Golf concept collection.”

Outcome / What It Achieved

A tightly unified apparel collection that demonstrates:

The mini-drop came together as a cohesive, retro-sport collection that demonstrates how I build apparel systems quickly and with intent. Each piece—polos, tees, socks, hats, and towels—shares a unified visual language grounded in repeat pattern design, typography, and color story.

To extend the world of the collection, I created a set of social mockups that show how Good Boy Golf could activate the drop across channels. The posts highlight personality, humor, and on-course lifestyle, proving the brand can flex from product to culture with ease.

The final result is a concept collection that feels ready for retail, shows my ability to execute apparel graphics end-to-end, and demonstrates how a full product line can scale into campaign-ready storytelling.
